about

I wrote and recorded a rough version of this track in April. It was written as a way to show her how I felt about her.

I chose "Brown Skin Lady" because she is a big fan of Mos Def and Talib Kweli and she herself is a beautiful, brown skinned lady.

The title "Redeemer" was taken from the band Norma Jean, as it happens to sound similar to her first name, which starts with the letter R.

At the time of writing/recording this, I had no intention to produce this into an EP with this theme. This came naturally as I wrote and recorded the second chapter, Retreater.
