about

On 10/10/10, I released The 18th Letter Diaries, an EP that was made for a girl that captured my heart and rekindled my desire to make hip-hop music. I "revealed" the truth about that record to this girl in the summer of 2010 and following that encounter, I penned two more songs. The first of these two is called "Receiver" and the song paints the picture of how the "ball" has now been passed to her. Now that she knows how I feel about her, what will she do?

In 2013, I will release the final song from The 18th Letter Diaries saga, which will include a surprise. Stay tuned for more details in the coming year.

lyrics

The ball’s in your court, are you the Black Mamba?
Or will you dance around it like the Ballroom Samba?
See I’m a "kwel-ity" (quality) cat, I’m found "Twice Inna Lifetime"
My "Wordsworth" more than a dime with or without "Punchlines"
You’re more than a "Jane Doe" -- dressy or in plain clothes
Got me red, white and blue, just like the Star Spangled
Red’s for the love in you I hope to find
Blue is how I feel when you’re not by my side
White, cause I’m the knight, and yes my armor does shine
Not here to rescue you, I’m searching for what’s mine
The heart I gave you when I Revealed the truth
I don’t plan to Retreat, I plan to Redeem this from you
I hope you know now - I’m more than just an option,
We’d make a dynamic duo, I'm Batman to your Robin
Cyclops to your Jean Gray, I’m not like your (e)X-Men
I am the X-Factor -- let’s start connect-ing
Distance is hard, it makes the heart grow fonder,
As I’m over yonder, I ponder whether I might be on ya
Mind, cause you’re on mine, and that’s why I write
Words from the bottom of my heart, put ‘em up in lights

I said that I’d wait, but I never said it’d be Forever
It may not mean nothing to you, don’t wanna add pressure
I believe with all my being that we’re meant to be together
Still unsure? Peep those diaries on "The 18th Letter"
People come, people go, lessons of Dave Guetta
I’m not cocky, but you’ll never find somebody better
I base this on the intangibles that cannot be measured
Four songs in, I hope you’ve been able to treasure
Each syllable I’ve written, cause girl you’re special
And I know it sounds crazy cause I only just met you
I’m the only cat who isn’t out to just sex you
With a name like Satnam, all I want is to bless you
If I’m worth a shot, let’s get it on
As I await your decision, untelevised, Lebron
Whatever you decide, I won’t be M.I.A.
And here’s a Q-Tip, cutie, I hope you find your way
Listen.
